Bethany Beach Ocean Suites Residence Inn by Marriott

Ocean front, balcony room was beautiful but you definitely pay a lot for the view!

Room well appointed but balcony lights can't be turned off which was a bummer for sitting out at night.

Pool area is odd and small/shallow. Bathroom in this area was not clean.

Parking garage and elevators are a bit confusing at first.

Hotel restaurant was pricey for what we had. We had excellent service but wouldn't recommend eating here.

Breakfast buffet was standard Marriott offerings. Nothing special.

Spent 4 nights here a couple weeks ago in ocean view room (2d building, room 135). This was after 5 nights in June. We love the location and being right on the boardwalk. Biggest issue (and it’s a big one!) are the beds. They are dreadful! The mattresses don’t even belong in a homeless shelter! No support whatsoever! One needs a chiropractor after couple of nights on these beds! For the room prices , much better mattresses should be standard! We hope Bethany Marriott Ocean Suites invests in some decent mattresses in time for next summer! Otherwise, guests beware!

We have stayed here for extended summer trips more than once, and I have to leave a review because the staff is just unmatched. Everyone who works here is so helpful, kind, understanding and patient. The housekeeping staff is outstanding, just the most accommodating and kind team. On top of the perfect beachfront and charming family beach town of Bethany Beach, the hotel’s daily events for kids have become core memories for our kids. Cascading Carlos didn’t just teach our kids how to juggle, he spent three hours with our kids and others teaching them all kinds of skills and was the kindest, most patient, entertaining guy with a true passion for teaching kids how to do his tricks. Another day, there was a Merman at the pool who was rolled in on a luggage trolley who sat in the pool, read them a book about ocean conservation and then talked to and entertained the kids for two hours. They loved it! The staff at breakfast tirelessly works for a deluge of guests. They never stop, constantly bussing tables, restocking silverware, food, coffee, water… They are so hardworking and it’s a tough shift! The front desk has so much thrown at them, but they handle it all with patience and grace. The only area of improvement I have is to ensure each guest has a parking spot in the high season. We did get a spot in the hotel garage after a 30-minute wait upon arrival, but it was the Employee of the Month spot so we had to look around the garage the next morning for a spot to move our car.
