Came here on vacation knowing the talked about hotspots were rusty rutter and the starboard, but when most bars disappointed us for the evening we found our way to Gary’s multiple times that week. It felt like a clean and casual “dive” that we’d find at home, just in a beach town instead. Incredible food (the huge plate of grilled veggies at 10pm saved my life) and props to whoever made the playlist, good tunes every night. An absolute gem dawgie.

In a small beach town that has become inundated with “Starboard” everything, Gary’s is one of the few authentic spots left in town. An oasis from the tourists and New York / Jersey clowns. Great food. Gary, the owner, cooked up the best eggs and hash browns I’ve ever had. Great service. Maddy and Kasen are phenomenal bartenders. Cool spot. Keep it real Gary’s.

Gary himself is in the back every day, whipping up some of the most delicious and flavorful meals you'll find anywhere. The turkey cheesesteaks are a must-try, and don’t miss out on their unique sushi — it’s the only sushi available in Dewey Beach! With over 100 beer choices at the full bar, there’s something for everyone. The friendly and helpful staff make it even more enjoyable. Whether you're here during the off-season (Thursday through Sunday) or the busy summer months (open 7 days a week), the prices are always just right. A true local favorite for great food, drinks, and a relaxed vibe. Highly recommend!
