JR's Seafood Shack

Stacy was pleasant and did a great job as our server. This is a cozy and casual restaurant with good food. Their crab dip was among the best I’ve ever had (I am from Maryland). The catfish po’boy is tender and crispy, and the dessert pies are excellent — flaky crust with rich filling. Going to a southern restaurant without ordering cheese grits would be unthinkable. The pimento cheese grits were outstanding as well. Perhaps the maple broccoli was lacking — it would have been nice to know that it was steamed/boiled (I thought it would be roasted). Overall had a great experience and would recommend!

Just wanted to share that we had a fantastic time at JR's this past Saturday night. Place was not crowded when we arrived at 7:30, and we were seated in the bar area at a hightop table for six. Hostess was very nice, and Tammy was our server. Tammy was super friendly, attentive, and gave her honest opinion about the menu. We were really glad she was assigned to our table. Food came out a resonable time and everyone really liked their meals. This is a great casual place to eat and drink, and we will be returning very soon!

What a fun and delicious evening! Four senior ladies enjoying happy hour food and drinks. Grouper, calamari, and shrimp cooked to perfection! Fabulous cucumber/tomato salad and melt in your mouth crispy hush puppies. Topped off by a staff, particularly our server Rich, who are so welcoming and friendly you feel happy to just be there.
