Surf Shanty Motel

First time in Dewey Beach and we are so happy we stayed in this adorable, clean, comfortable and perfectly located motel. Steps to the beach, wonderful breakfast shop across the road and some really fun restaurants around the corner. We were able to walk 2 miles on the beach to Rehoboth. Found plenty of sea glass along the way. Andre was so welcoming and you can tell how much he loves this place. April is quiet in the best way. Must be so fun in the summer too! Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

This is a hidden gem of a motel. It was perfect! Quaint. Well decorated. Very very clean. Comfortable beds and pillows. A very short walk to the beach. Everything you would need for a vacation. Bring your own beach towel and chair. The only negative I would point out is the lack of a concrete area to go from pavement to room…right now it is rock. It’s a safety concern for seniors and I would think wheelchairs would find it extremely difficult to maneuver. Overall a 10 star stay! We will be back!

We really couldn't have been more pleased with our stay here. Our goal was to find a locally owned hotel, close to the beach at a reasonable price. Needless to sat Surf Shanty Motel fit the bill. It's location in the middle of Dewey Beach and steps from the beach is unparalleled. The extras like an outdoor shower, in room sound machine, bike rentals, and Fiji water are all greatly appreciated perks. Also, we really liked how responsive and personal management was to us. We had a tornado warning and were quick to tell us where to go.

The one negative is their surf shop was never open when we stopped by. Thus, we couldn't get our free gift. Oh well!

My family and I will be back!
