The Bay Resort is an absolute gem! Located right on the bay in the heart of Dewey Beach, this charming three-story hotel offers the perfect mix of comfort, convenience, and coastal beauty. With over 50 rooms—half overlooking the bay and the other half the pool—every room offers a great view from your private balcony.
One of the highlights is the long pier that stretches out into the bay. It’s the perfect spot to watch a stunning sunset or just relax during the day. Delmarva Watersports is also located right on the bayside of the property, which is super convenient if you're looking to add a little adventure to your stay.
The hotel is less than two blocks from the ocean, so beach access is just a short walk away. In fact, everything in Dewey is walkable—restaurants, bars, music venues—you name it! The rooms are spotless, and the beds are incredibly comfortable, perfect after a fun-filled day around town.
Another big plus is the ample on-site parking. Once you park your car, you likely won’t need it again until it’s time to head home. And if you need anything at all, the front desk staff is outstanding—friendly, helpful, and truly dedicated to making your stay perfect.

The Bay Resort
BUYER BEWARE - UNREASONABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES FROM BAY RESORT HOTEL'S MANAGEMENT GROUP. My son's 14U baseball team was registered to play a tournament at Sports at the Beach the weekend of Oct 19, 2024. 11 families from our team booked rooms at Bay Resort Hotel through the tournament's stay-to-play provider, Book Your Block, paying one-night deposits ($200) to the hotel. Unfortunately, the 14U bracket of this tournament was cancelled due to a lack of teams registering. We learned of the tournament cancellation on Oct 3, two weeks prior to the tournament date. The tournament provider refunded registration fees to the team and the stay-to-play provider refunded their nominal booking fees to the 11 families. However, Bay Resort Hotel is adhering strictly to their 46-day (!) cancellation policy and refusing to issue refunds of the $200 deposits paid by each family. Not only are they refusing to refund the deposits but they are offering no concessions whatsoever - e.g. credit/discount for a future stay. Given the circumstances, this completely tone-deaf response from the hotel makes no sense. Despite having an opportunity to potentially earn future business from these families, the hotel has assured that 11 families in their target demographic will never visit their hotel again and will spread the word of this incredibly negative experience.
UPDATE: As a reply to the Bay Resort response, at no point was an option presented to our group other than the Bay Resort Hotel firmly adhering to the cancellation policy (i.e. no refund). Through several conversations with Tammy, the general manager, our situation/circumstances and position were made clear. Even a nominal concession such as a discount on a future stay would have been acceptable. Tammy offered a sympathetic ear and pledged to take our case to management which I believe she did multiple times over an 8-week period. However, the hotel's position never wavered. While the hotel acknowledged the 'importance of reviewing our approach to exceptional circumstances', it is disappointing the hotel chose to not adjust their approach during the 8 weeks where our situation was discussed.

The Bay Resort
My first experience with Beckie came when I accidently booked the WRONG DATE through booking.com. She was so helpful and responsive to seeing that I was refunded and carefully explained the process to me, so I could remedy the situation. Then she calmly found me a suitable room for the appropriate date. It was a late hour and she was so helpful.
Then their next front desk person, Erin, an absolute sweetheart allowed for me a little extra time in a room to get ready in a room before I had to take off for a wedding. They didn't have to do that, but it was so gracious and nice of them. Erin made me feel like part of the family so far away from my own family.
I've never met a hotel that truly made me feel like one of the family! If I'm ever back in deleware, I'm certainly staying there to hang with Erin and Beckie!
