The Rookery South Course
We were only visiting for the week and thought it would be nice to check out a local course. Surprisingly, the public course was extremely well maintained despite the stormy weather that entire week and looked beautiful near sunset. While I didn’t shoot too well, the holes were enjoyable and loved some of the long par 3s.

my wife and I played 18 holes yesterday and had a wonderful time. we we paired up w 2 gentlemen who play the course regularly. the course was beautiful. people were friendly and welcoming. we got in on the last day of March before seasonal rates changed in April so we lucked out as non members. fairways were smooth and sand traps fluffy altho a couple had some damp sand from the prior nights rain. greens rolled well and fairway stakes and our cart always told you where you were. highly recommend. thanks Steve and Al. nice meeting you.

The course has a nice layout, with enough water to be challenging. It's USUALLY maintained much better, but the past week has left a lot to be desired. We had a lot of rain three weeks ago, and twigs, leaves, and limbs had been pushed up the banks and into roughs; they haven't been cleared since. The pull carts are in VERY poor condition, but only $5 is a good fee.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing here. Off-season rate is currently $25, but in-season fees are quite steep.
