Went here twice, once with our dog for early dinner on our first day at the beach, then again on day 4 for lunch. Both times were delicious! Both times I got the crab cakes, some of the best I’ve ever had. Almost no filler. They also have a few good options for those who don’t eat seafood like the NY strip steak. The cream of crab soup was amazing, wished we got a bowl instead of a cup! Overall my favorite restaurant from our whole trip, and will return next time we travel here!

Woodies in Dewey Beach is all about the crab — and they absolutely deliver! The crab cakes are the real deal: packed with delicious lump crab and not loaded with panko or fillers. If you come here, the crab cake platter is a must. It comes with two sides, and definitely make one of them the tots!
And don’t skip the crab dip — another standout. Honestly, if “crab” is in the name of the dish here, order it.
My friend decided to venture away from the obvious choice and ordered the roast beef sandwich, which was a little dry — but that’s kind of on him. 😂 You come to Woodies for the crab cakes!
Great casual Dewey Beach spot, generous portions, and some seriously good crab. It’s all about the crab at Woodies! 🦀

I stopped by Woody’s Dewey Beach for lunch today and realized I had never left a review before. I’ve been here a hundreds of times as I live less then a block away. Their crab cakes are amazing! They used to have a steak special on Thursday nights where you can add a crab cake, for “steak and cake” night. On this lunch time visit though, we opted for some sandwiches. Everything was prepared well and came out promptly. The staff was attentive and great to interact with. I also appreciate that the restaurant is dog friendly, which means Schnitzel gets to join us. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as bar seating inside. Prices are reasonable. They are one of the few places in Dewey that are open everyday.
